The 26th No Drug Hazards Day will hold on August 26, 2025.

1999年8月24日、厚生労働省の前庭に、「薬害根絶誓いの碑」が建立され、サリドマイド・スモン・薬害エイズなどの悲惨な薬害を引き起こした反省と謝罪がなされました。しかし、今なお新たな薬害が生み出され、適切な救済がなされぬまま、被害と闘う毎日が続いています。私達は、薬害の根絶と被害者救済を願い、毎年この日に「碑の前の誓い」を中心に「厚生労働省交渉」「文部科学省交渉」など、一連の薬害根絶行動を行っています。

On August 24, 1999, a monument was erected in the front yard of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) to express remorse and apologize for the tragic drug harm such as thalidomide, SMON and drug-induced AIDS. However, new drug harm are still being created, and people continue to struggle with the damage every day without appropriate remedies.

The No Drug Hazards Day Executive Committee, wishing for the eradication of drug harm and relief for victims, holds a series of actions to eradicate drug harm on this day every year, centering on the monument, including negotiations with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and "negotiations with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
